Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Help Children as they grow from newborns through grade five:
   • to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
   • to obey Jesus' command to love each other
   • to learn the Bible and Christian doctrine
   • to bring their faith in Christ to bear on the practical affairs of their lives
2. Support the mission and vision of Brandywine Valley Baptist Church
3. Casts the vision for children's ministries at Brandywine Valley Baptist Church
4. Recruit, train, schedule and encourage volunteers to implement the vision
5. Train and encourage parents in rearing their children
6. Oversee outreach to children in the community through events like VBS, Fall Festival and Christmas Eve services
7. Oversee the Brandywine Valley Christian Preschool
8. Stay in touch with other directors of children's ministries

Qualifications

1. Spiritual Maturity: a personal and growing faith in Jesus Christ; the desire and ability to help people have a relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ; compassionate realism about the imperfections of people, including the church staff; and a good reputation in the community
2. Personal Maturity: the ability to handle stressful situations and people; self-motivated and organized; a good sense of humor; and strict confidentiality about church matters in and out of the office
3. Appropriate Credentials: college degree; demonstrated ministry experience
