Third Saturdays – September 18
Brandywine Valley is called to serve the world around us for the sake of Christ. One way we do this is by reaching out to our community in designated church-wide outreach opportunities the third Saturday of each month. We participate in these outreaches through prayer, giving, compassionate service and by developing relationships as we serve.
Sunday Breakfast Mission
SBM provides shelter, meals, a long-term discipleship program plus clothing and furniture to homeless men in the city of Wilmington. Serve the evening meal from 5:15 – 7 p.m.
Sojourners Place
SP is dedicated to helping homeless men and women return to the community as self-sufficient people through a case-managed, three-year program that provides transitional housing and meals, job training and other services. Prepare and serve the evening meal from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is an international, non-profit Christian organization that builds affordable housing for people living in substandard housing. Construction help (skilled and unskilled) is needed from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Help could also be provided by making lunch for the workers.
