Financial Stewardship: A Spiritual Discipline

The Bible teaches us to give generously and sacrificially. From the tithe prescribed in the Old Testament (Deuteronomy 14:12ff) to the call in the New Testament for us to be cheerful givers (2 Corinthians 9:7), scripture teaches that we are to give a portion of our income to the work of God's kingdom. BVBC is committed to introducing people to Jesus Christ and helping them follow him. Your generous and sacrificial giving is critical to the ongoing support of this work and allows you to participate in the kingdom building mission of BVBC, here in the Brandywine Valley and around the world.

Ways to Give

There are many ways you can give to BVBC. The following list is not comprehensive, but it represents the most common forms of giving.

Online Giving

You can sign up for secure online giving on our Web site, or by filling out this form to authorize an automatic debit transactions to your account. There are a number of advantages to online giving.

• First Fruits: In Proverbs 3:9, we are taught to honor the Lord withe the "First Fruits" of our labor. By setting up a recurring contribution that is scheduled to come out of your account on the day you specify, you can ensure that your First Fruits are given back to God.
  
• Simplicity: You will not need to remember if you gave this month or send in your offering checks when you are out of town.
  
• Security: Online giving is more secure than giving with a check in that an electronic gift can't be lost or stolen. Additional information on the security of online contributions is available on our Web site.
  
• Helping: It is more cost effective for BVBC to process online contributions. In addition, it also simplifies the financial records BVBC needs to keep.
  
  

Online Bill Payment Service

Most banks and brokerage accounts offer a feature that allows you to set up an automatic payment from your account on a regular schedule. This option offers many of the same advantages as online giving.

Gifts of Appreciated Stocks, Bonds and Mutual Funds

Giving appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual funds offers significant tax savings, because the gifts are exempt from the capital gains tax. These gifts can be given electronically by asking your broker to transfer them to our account, using the following information.
